The 2-Day Cervical Mucus Method

WHAT IS FERTILE CERVICAL MUCUS & THE 2-DAY CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD?

Your body produces a distinct kind of mucus or discharge (natural discharge, not discharge from infection) when you are most fertile.  The 2-day cervical mucus method is all about noting the differences in the consistency or appearance (as it concerns the thickness or thinness) of your cervical mucus.

HOW DO I USE THE 2-DAY CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD?

To use the 2-day cervical mucus method, women monitor themselves each day to determine whether or not they experience any secretions that day. Mucus cycles will vary from one lady to another and from cycle to cycle. Like with the Ovulation Calendar method, you will have to get to know your own body and cycle.

The method rules are quite simple. A woman asks herself two questions: "Did I notice any secretions today?" and "Did I notice any secretions yesterday?" If she noticed any secretions yesterday and today, she is potentially fertile. If she did not notice any secretions either yesterday or today (two consecutive days with no secretions), her probability of becoming pregnant is very low and it is safe to have intercourse that day. Couples using the 2-day cervical mucus method should avoid unprotected intercourse on days when the woman is potentially fertile.
